چکیده

Different concepts related to controllability of differential-algebraic equations are described. The class of systems considered consists of linear differential-algebraic equations with constant coefficients. Regularity, which is, loosely speaking, a concept related to existence and uniqueness of solutions for any inhomogeneity, is not required in this article. The concepts of impulse controllability, controllability at infinity, behavioral controllability, strong and complete controllability are described and defined in time-domain. Equivalent criteria that generalize the Hautus test are presented and proved. Special emphasis is placed on normal forms under state space transformation and, further, under state space, input and feedback transformations. Special forms generalizing the Kalman decomposition and Brunovský form are presented. Consequences for state feedback design and geometric interpretation of the space of reachable states in terms of invariant subspaces are proved.

Kalman controllability decompositions for differential-algebraic systems

We study linear differential-algebraic control systems and investigate decompositions with respect to controllability properties. We show that the augmented Wong sequences can be exploited for a transformation of the system into a Kalman controllability decomposition (KCD). The KCD decouples the system into a completely controllable part, an uncontrollable part given by an ordinary differential...

Algebraic Theory of Time-varying Linear Systems: a Survey

The development of the algebraic theory of time-varying linear systems is described. The class of systems considered consists of differential-algebraic equation in kernel presentation. This class encompasses time-varying state space, descriptor systems as well as Rosenbrock systems, and time-invariant systems in the behavioural approach. One difference between time-varying and time-invariant sy...

Controllability of switched differential-algebraic equations

We study controllability of switched differential algebraic equations. We are able to establish a controllability characterization where we assume that the switching signal is known. The characterization takes into account possible jumps induced by the switches. It turns out that controllability not only depends on the actual switching sequence but also on the duration between the switching times.

Approximate and approximate null-controllability of a class of piecewise linear Markov switch systems

We propose an explicit, easily-computable algebraic criterion for approximate null-controllability of a class of general piecewise linear switch systems with multiplicative noise. This gives an answer to the general problem left open in [13]. The proof relies on recent results in [4] allowing to reduce the dual stochastic backward system to a family of ordinary differential equations. Second, w...

Algebraic approach to spectral controllability analysis of convolutional systems

The class of linear dynamical systems described by convolutional equations is very rich and includes as special cases both differential systems and delay–differential systems. The aim of this paper is to obtain a complete characterization of spectral controllability for convolutional systems, providing an interpretation of this concept both in the behavioral approach and in the module theoretic...
